An introduction: hinterland spectacle

In an indispensable attempt to escape the immediate and oncoming mass paranoia, Minnie and Ella and I drove 107 kilometers northwest to seek placidity amongst this state of pandemonium.
We expressed shared discomforts about the emphasis on art needing to be hosted by a physical space. The viewing and sharing of art inherently (and rightly so) depends on congregation and physicality, so what happens when that aspect becomes virtually impossible? How do we as individuals and as a community make sure that the suspension of tangibly engaging with art doesn't simultaneously mean the suspension of engaging with art altogether.
During a crisis the arts can begin to be viewed as a luxury and their importance can take a backseat, while livelihood and wellbeing will always be the foremost priority, art is and should be apart of our relationship with our own wellbeing and with others. isolation provides a lot of people with nothing but time, time to create, discuss and view, we are hoping this is a platform where that can take place. We acknowledge that the internet eliminates so many of the meaningful and necessary elements of engaging with art but many of those are unattainable right now, we will make do with what we have.

and we did.
here is our first exhibition, while only three of us physically participated, we hope this virtual walkthrough is as enriching. some of the works were made in Hepburn whilst others were brought from Melbourne.

We insubstantially call this one:
